Residents and staff enjoyed a weeklong celebration of Jubilee festivites at Holmer Court Care Home.
After preparing and decorating the home with bunting, flags and balloons residents were ready for the many activities planned across the week to mark this historic occasion.
Thursday was the home’s ‘street party’ where residents recollected what they were doing on Her Majesty’s Coronation in 1953 while enjoying traditional afternoon tea. A ‘Right Royal Knees Up’ was had by residents and staff as they joined together in sing-along to some old favourites accompanied by one of the resident’s playing the piano.
Home Manager Claire commented “It was such a lovely week, everyone was so engaged and involved in preparing the home and participating in the activities. It had a very positive impact on the home after so many months of restrictions with Covid. The Activities Co-ordinators really shone and made the events so very special.”
